Dean was incredibly friendly and also helpful with any questions we had. A real gentleman. He was always available over the phone (even after normal hours) and he never took more than a few hours to respond back with emails. The final approval step took longer than others because of closer and title company conversations and it's normal I guess. Charles explained the process clearly up front and stayed in the loop with me through every step – Processing, Underwriting and Closing. I knew that if the loan ever fell off track, he would be right there to set things right. The team of professionals I worked with at Consumer Direct Mortgage, Justin and Jenny, were also exceptional. When information was requested, it was promptly reviewed, and I never had to send the same thing twice. We not only closed on time, but we closed early – all of this during a pandemic surge and the Christmas holiday! We bought our first home through Consumer Direct Mortgage and had a great experience. They were responsive, moved fast, and, of course, gave us the best rate we could find anywhere - online or local.

I assumed since we were getting such a rock bottom mortgage rate that the customer service would suffer - and boy was I wrong. Mike (our chief loan officer) was able to answer my questions (of which there were many) at all times of the day/night. When I had an urgent question before a midnight deadline, a member of the team was able to reach me in time. When we needed to close a few days early due to my wife's schedule, they were able to accommodate.

So yes, it was a very positive experience and I would recommend Consumer Direct to anyone.

Maybe because we are people of color we had to jump through hoops and after satisfying all their request less than 24 hrs before closing they pull one more rabbit out of thin air!! Please BE WARE!!!! I am super skeptical and was stressed to start the home loan process with a company in a different state but was very pleasantly surprised. I went through the Costco program with consumer direct and received an awesome rate with low fees- no one could beat it! I find CDMTG from Costco, and working with the loan officier Keven Marsh. He is much more than excellent. Comparing to my previous mortgage applciation experience, Kevin is professional, responsive, and considering all the possible secnario from my prospective rather than simpliy make the deal done. My processor is great, too. He helped me speed up the application process and make the approval happen significant faster compared to my friends loan application happening around similar time. The loan rate is also super comparable as well as the closing cost, but not sure if the low cost is due to COSTCO program. Anyway, I strongly recommend ConsuderDirect Mortgage, and especailly my loan officier Kevin.

I would strongly recommend against choosing Consumer Direct for your mortgage needs. Once they get you started on the process, they become very unresponsive, and the refinance took almost 90 days. During the final week closing was rescheduled multiple times because Consumer Direct did not provide the title company with the necessary documents. Even more alarming, there was a miscommunication between them and their title company, causing my home insurance to not get paid and become expired, causing the coverage on my house to be suspended. After about a week of calling (no answer, just a message about voicemail being full) and emailing them, they resolved it (without input from me) by having the title company send me the check for the insurance company directly to me, so they could effectively wash their hands of it. I was able to overnight the check to my insurance company (at my own expense) with no issues, so Im not sure what their problem was. Ive done other refinances before with zero complaints. Consumer Direct is just a terrible experience compared to the others, and very unprofessional. There are many other mortgage companies with similar rates, theres no reason to risk financial disaster with this one.

I started looking at refinance rates back in August and went through the Costco program to shop rates with different lenders. In an already very competitive field of rates, Consumer Direct was giving me the best offer in rates, points, and low monthly payments which was what I was looking for. I refinanced my house many times over the course of 11 years. My rate dropped from original 5.625% (30 years) to the current 2.875% (20 years). My last three refinances I did with Consumer Direct Mortgage. It is the best mortgage company I ever dealt with. However, I would like to specifically give thanks to Charles Petruzzi, the loan originator. He repeatedly was able to give the best rates on the market and a lender credit to cover the refinance expenses. Charles is always available to answer questions or resolve the issues from the start to finish of the process (from application to the loan closing). He replies almost immediately at any time! As a company, the online experience to refinance a home loan was easy to navigate and documents and signatures could be uploaded easily. Dean Christopoul, a senior mortgage banker, was very organized and professional as we moved through the process. Robert Lease, our Mortgage Loan Processor also made the process as easy as possible. This refinance was a nightmare, it took about 3 months for nothing on the end, just a very stressful situation. They are extremely amateur and looks like my mortgage was the first they were making. They are very disorganized as well. They have scheduled over 4 closing dates, but one day before each of the closing dates they found something they needed additional (aways their fault), it looks like they were intentionally looking to not complete the mortgage process. Just for an example, on the beginning of the process, I let them know that one of the persons would not be present on the closing, so if additional documentation was required they would need to provide. After a month they ask for a POA, after going to the notary and spending a lot of time I sent the POA for them, after a month they discover they incorrectly made the POA and ask us to sign and notarize again, but it didnt stop there, they sent me 4 DIFFERENT versions of the POA !!! is unbelievable and it demonstrate how amateur they are. On the end it was looking they were joking with me so I gave up their games. Be careful with this lender, they are NOT SERIOUS AT ALL, you will just lose your time and patience.

But!... the process was a bit complicated due to too many out sourcing services, otherwise I would give a full set of 5 stars. To make best of this service I would suggest get your own local closing attorney (or escrow) and your own local title company to avoid misunderstanding and confusion which I had to go through

In general, I have never heard anyone speak glowingly of a lender. They are simply a means to an end... or so I thought. I was discouraged by my realtor, family, and other lenders to enter into a transaction with an online lender. After all, we all know that online lenders are big & scary and just out to steal your hard-earned money. I found ConsumerDirect Mortgage and Charles Petruzzi via Costco. My wife buys everything there and thought, why not a mortgage also? I was skeptical... very skeptical. After trading several emails with Charles, I got the sense that he was a straight shooter, which I appreciated. He was honest, forthright, and not salesy. He assured me that ConsumerDirect was not a big, scary online lender and was, in fact, a division of FirstBank, which was actually founded in my home state. Charles was there for us from start to finish. His responsiveness to email, text, and phone calls is far greater than I ever expected. If we needed him, he was there. This was, by far, the best customer service experience that I have ever had. Not only was Charles great, but his rates were consistently 0.25% lower than any of his competitors. The icing on the cake came as we were approaching closing. Rates had dropped since we locked in our rate, and while ConsumerDirect was not obligated to give me a float-down option free of charge, they did so anyway. Closing was as smooth as silk. There were no hiccups whatsoever from my lender. Do yourself a favor when seeking your next mortgage. Check out Charles Petruzzi and ConsumerDirect Mortgage. They are honest, efficient, and effective, and you will not regret your decision. I know that if I am ever in the market again, this is the first place I will look.

We had a wonderful experience with this company from day 1! I had found a specific loan officer s (Charles Petruzzi) information through numerous other online reviews, so called him directly. He was so nice and more than happy to take on our semi complicated case. He immediately started running numerous numbers for me and gave me quotes for a few different loans scenarios and then helped us decide on which would be the best option for us. He was also so quick to get all the paperwork rolling, because we already had a close date that was only 3 weeks away but were having issues with the original loan provider that we had been assigned to. He just always went above and beyond to help us, especially to try and meet our close date, even though it was going to be a tight one. He walked us through every step, explained everything so well, was ALWAYS available to help (even though the time difference put us 2 hours behind him) so he worked late and from home on numerous different things throughout the process. I literally just can t say enough good things about Charles! The company as a whole too, because he wasn t the only one who was going to have to bust butt to get us closed on time. We were also assigned a closing officer and another closing agent person towards the end when we got into the final stages of closing, who also did well and were helpful, but none of which were quite as great as Charles. I won t mention names because some of it wasn t necessarily their faults directly, but one of the gentleman s constant lack of friendliness was. I was just glad that no matter what, Charles was still always available through the entire process if I had questions and preferred to speak with him instead. The one and only issue we ran into was on closing day, which was more the fault of the other two people I had just spoke about, but mainly just underwriting. It was such a small and petty issue and could have easily been avoided, which made it all the more frustrating and ridiculous. I won t get into the lengthy details, or what could have happened, because it all worked out and isn t a situation most people would have to deal with. Again, we had a complicated case right off the bat for them to deal with. It was just a matter of some last minute paperwork, but they could have easily done things different to avoid it, or at least told us they would want these last minute documents, so we could have had them ready. There was just absolutely no reason for them to spring that sort of stuff on us, completely unexpected, while we re literally sitting at the title office, waiting for them to give the fund approval and wire the money over so that we could have our keys. In the end everything worked out though and so it was fine. Again, that was the one and only issue we ever had and ultimately I would still 100% recommend this company to anyone. The inconvenience of that one thing didn t trump all the other wonderful things they did throughout the entire process to help us or get us closed on time. One bad out of a hundred good, sort of thing. We still would have closed either way too. Our situation really was complicated from day one and they just did everything they could to help keep us on track. I had even lost my job in the middle of the process, which was completely unexpected and a whole nother story, but it truly made things even more difficult for everyone and should have derailed our entire loan (and would have for most other companies). However, they just kept working with us, kept fighting to help us, never gave up, and we got our loan and house. They knew how important it was to us and how much we wanted this house, so they truly did go above and beyond to make it all happen. I ll be forever grateful to them and so happy that I had stumbled across their companies information online. My only advice would be to specifically double check that nothing else is needed the night before your closing. Thank you Charles and CDM for all your hard work and getting us into our dream home! Im a Realtor who typically uses a local lender. After 1 lender shot my buyer down, we went to another excellent lender I know. She had a very tough time trying to get them approved with the underwriters, this lasted at least a month. My buyer found Consumer Direct on the internet and applied for a the loan. We were overwhelmed that they were approved with their Underwriters once they submitted all their paperwork. I would recommend this company for sure. We bought our first home through Consumer Direct Mortgage and had a great experience. They were responsive, moved fast, and, of course, gave us the best rate we could find anywhere - online or local. I assumed since we were getting such a rock bottom mortgage rate that the customer service would suffer - and boy was I wrong. Mike (our chief loan officer) was able to answer my questions (of which there were many) at all times of the day/night. When I had an urgent question before a midnight deadline, a member of the team was able to reach me in time. When we needed to close a few days early due to my wifes schedule, they were able to accommodate. So yes, it was a very positive experience and I would recommend Consumer Direct to anyone.

We just closed with Consumer Direct, First Bank on our vacation home. It was an amazingly smooth process, particularly because of the continuous support from start to closing by Kate Vogel, Senior Loan Officer, who was our original contact. Jenny York, the Loan Closer was also a major player in getting us to the exact closing date we requested. There was a 3 hour time difference; however, these two individuals were always timely in moving documents forward. I highly recommend CDM and their team if you are looking to finance or refinance your home.

Jay Davies and his teammates with Consumer Direct Mortgage were beyond professional during my Cash Out Refinance experience. I contacted Jay on July 18th and my loan was closed by August 20th. From the moment we first spoke, Jay told me exactly what to expect and immediately offered me a better deal than the 2 other mortgage companies I had contacted. It wasnt just about the better deal, but Jay explaining to me WHY Consumer Direct is able to offer the rates and fees they do...he never badmouthed the other companies, just explained how their process differs. I was looking for a loan for new construction. My builder thretanded me with penalties if I switched lenders. My real estate agent said that it s a safe bet to close with the builder. My family and friend told me not to switch because it wasn t worth losing a house over. For the interest rate and the huge $$$ credit I decided to bet on Todd. I can t say enough to thank Todd Grunwald. Look him up. I don t know what his working hours are but he would respond all throughout the day and night. He is almost like a 7/11. He has outstanding work ethics and everything with consumer direct was transparent. I don t understand the bad reviews. The lender wants to close you but they can t control your debt to income, credit or the appraisal. I was skeptic about online lenders I still can t believe they pulled this loan off. Todd made the loan process a dream. He is a loan officer super hero. If you want a lean lender that gives you the best rate call Todd.

Art, Brianne, and Hesta with Consumer Direct Mortgage made that process as easy and seamless as possible maintaining their professionalism, providing positive can-do problem solving skills/advice, and patience during an uncommon lengthy third-party process. We shopped around for mortgage in the months before purchasing the house and Consumer Direct was the clear choice for us. Not only they offered the most competitive rate, our loan officer Rod Davis was extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and effective from our first correspondence all the way up to closing. The mortgage process began easily but turned out to be a hassle. Beware that your terms will change if you do not escrow. The promised credit toward closing will not only go away, but you will be charged additional fees. Make sure you get all details in writing before committing to the loan. I realize things can arise, but being promised a closing within thirty days and it taking way longer is frustrating. Using their lawyer to close was a hassle. Had I known I would have to inconvenience a notary to meet with the lawyer and me at 6pm, I would have used my own attorney. They tell you the closing can be done by any time of day or night. Not true. It depends on when their guy is available which could hold up disbursement. I was also told that I would deal with the same person throughout the process. Didnt happen. The originator of the loan was just the sales person. I was more knowledgeable of mortgage loans than he was. There were three more people to deal with. I am dissatisfied with the overall experience. From unprofessionalism on Gigis part to being given the run-around, it was a long, annoying process. With a credit score of over 800, 6 months of check stubs, numerous bank statements, and every document requested being sent immediately, the loan was a hassle. Gigi apparently works from home. He tends to his children while on the phone with customers. If he was on vacation, he should not have been the one to call me about the loan request. I have children. I teach children. I love children. However, when I am doing a business transaction, I dont want them to be involved. I was a loan officer for years. I did not like being taken advantage of. The originator should tell the consumer, up front, ALL facets of the loan. For example, not escrowing--you will not only lose your credit, but you will be charged. He was more concerned with trying to get me to extend the loan at a higher rate. His manager ended up making the credit right. I am thankful for that. However, my income verification was a hassle. I realize employment must be verified, but I am a teacher. The contract and pay stubs should have been sufficient. The loan was held up for weeks because employment could not be verified during Spring Break (and I made them aware of the dates) Why did they wait until time to close to verify employment??? I obviously pay my bills. My score reflects that. The mortgage was for less than 50% of the appraised value on a new construction home! I felt with all the positives I had to offer, the loan process could have been a lot less stressful.

We have worked with Adam Lane two times, once for a refinance and another time for a new conventional loan. Adam is the best loan officer weve ever worked with. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, and was with in 1 to 2 hours responsive to our multiple email questions and phone calls. We highly recommend Adam and Consumer Direct. The CDM ( First Bank) mortgage team is top notch!.. Mitch was my main POC, he presented all my loan options, clearly explained the plus and minuses of each. Answered emails on a Tues. at 8am or 9PM Sat night! Their loan rates are the best in the U.S.A.! plus no add on fees to your loan. They were responsive through the entire process through closing. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

We went with ConsumerDirect Mortgage for our refinance because they had some of the lowest rates and it looked like lowest fees. That turned out to be true, as well as really good customer services. They were on everything quickly and promptly, they were very professional. It took a little longer that I would have thought, but that had more to do with them than me! I would not reply as promptly as they sent stuff and things would end up in my spam folder. Thats on me, not them!!! It was all electronic, I think only 1-2 papers were not eSigned before closing. And with those, I was able to print, take pictures with my phone, then upload them. That was extremely convenient. Communication was always really clear and they delivered on what they said they would do. Our closing was a breeze. I would absolutely recommend them and would use them again.

We had a super easy, fast closing with Michael Durand on 2 mortgages now. Got a great rate, the lowest rate, and did not have some high pressure experience with a broker trying to upsell points ect. From contract to keys, 3 weeks. We had worked with them on a few houses prior to the one we ended up getting, and they had been solid throughout the entire process. That made things at least as easy as they could be given we had a time crunch and a contract that fell apart over a roof and foundation a week before finding our current home. We shopped a local place also, and they had us at .15 higher. That was their best rate but still that adds up to a lot over the life of a loan. Very pleased and will definitely use again.

This was my first experience in dealing with Consumerdirect Mortgage on behalf of obtaining a mortgage loan and I can honestly say it was the best experience Ive had thus far in terms of dealing with a financial entity for a loan. Consumerdirect had the most competitive no points and no lenders fees rate(s) compared with many others that were competing for business and with minimal costs to close on a loan. Not only that but the staff was fantastic to work with from the very beginning all the way through the closing process. We just finished the entire course of loan application and closed the property without any issues. We really want to share our experience with ComsumerDirect Mortgage, as their services were exceptional! Before loan application, we decided that we had to evaluate which company we were going to use, as we did not have any experience/chance doing so, for our previous properties. We picked couple companies based on reviews from Zillow, BBB, and Google, and ComsumerDirect Mortgage was one of these selections. We finally narrowed down to ComsumerDirect Mortgage, not only this company offered us very competitive rates, but also their responses were exceptionally prompt, and the process was very transparent. We were so happy made this decision, especially when the loan process moved forward, their prompt and transparent services became very essential. As a typical loan application process, the load of documents and the reasons in need of these documents can be very overwhelming. ComsumerDirect Mortgage representatives were following very high standard to treat their customers like us, meanwhile, maintaining high standard to ensure the accuracy of the documents and other application materials. It resulted satisfied customers, and ensured the smoothness and approval of the loan, which is the most important thing for a loan application. My experience with Consumerdirect Mortgage was excellent. In particular, I wish to call out the excellent service I received from Joel Bolton who was the loan originator. As is typically the case, things get slightly messier as the process advances to underwriting, and as various other individuals begin to be involved it becomes necessary to stay very involved and READ EVERYTHING as, oftentimes, minor clerical errors can occur. That said, such errors as there were, Consumer directs team was diligent in following up with corrections. It really doesnt get better than that. I would definitely recommend their services.

I had reached out to Consumer Direct Mortgage as I was beginning the process of getting a mortgage for our new home. I spoke with Dean Fiore to gather information regarding rates, types of mortgages etc...and he was so thorough, patient, and helpful in explaining everything to me, and providing me answers to questions that I didnt even ask, but was information that was critically important to know. Dean promised a seamless process from start to finish, and that he would be extremely responsive throughout the whole process, and that couldnt have been more true. The process is stressful, in general, and there were many questions that came up a long the way and Dean was extremely helpful. The BIGGEST help was when we really needed to close a little earlier than expected, to keep our rate, but especially to accommodate the attorneys on both sides, and at first it didnt look like we would be able to do it; however, I spoke with Dean and he accommodated us almost instantly! I heard back from him within 24 hours, as well as my loan processor, and they changed the date. I couldnt be more thrilled with our decision to work with Consumer Direct, but it was truly Dean Fiore who made this experience so great. Thank you Dean!
