Universal Jewelry Pawn & Gun Range

So I went to Universal Pawn and Gun today to browse. When i entered the store the greeting was already cold and ambiance not welcoming. I continued to browse and ask questions. When i went to the register to pay I could not believe the disrespect I received from Mickey - I asked if they have military discount and instead of a polite “no” he went on to tell me “I hate that you guys (military) come in here and ask for free stuff and you bring your own ammo and targets” I told him I’m not asking for anything free, only if they have a discount. He said “why do you think you deserve a discount, i wake up to work everyday and no one put a gun to your head to join the military” at this point I was shocked at his response especially with July 4th tomorrow . I just want to stand for veterans and military as we don’t deserve this type of disrespect. A professional “no” would have sufficed but to have been additionally treated like dirt for serving my country in Afghanistan , I am truly disappointed.

Mostly a gun store. Lots of accessories too. There's a lot of jewelry and they had a few nice tools. Prices on everything I looked at were pretty reasonable. They were all friendly and answered tons of questions.

Well i used to love this place and i have purchased a few guns here and planed to buy many more here but this last experience i just had was crossing the line. I got a light here they sell for $70 give or take. They sold it to me saying it was a great light. I come to find out its a $20 amazon light from china that its literally impossible to get a holster for. Iv looked into the light and its basically for airsoft. The red dot will not hold zero with a real gun (it was zeroed in shop and it was off zero before i even shot it again) and the whole assembly will just fall off the gun when shooting. They said they will continue to sell this product and wont give me money back for it. Lets just say they definitely lost a customer for life and any of my friends i ever brought to this place. They need to make it right.

i went to universal gun and pawn for a training lesson, they are very experienced and teach fire arm safety very well! before i took the training, i was nervous to even shoot a gun. but after the training i walked out with great confidence and know more about holding and firing a gun properly. the employees are very nice! i recommend this place if your interested in learning, practicing, or pawning items.

New to firearms and have visited this place twice , my first time with my Concealed Weapon Class and the second time on my own . The guys up front are very knowlegable about firearms and can answer all your questions . They can give you information about the manufacturer as well as the product . What they dont do is try to steer you to one brand over the other . They suggest you try out the brand your interested in and see if it meets your requirements for the firearm you want to purchase . You are always in control of the situation and their answers / opinions give you the ability to make a stress free decision moving foward . The firing range lacks air circulations whcih makes it a warm environment to say the least but if your goal is to learn and master your weapon you can adjust to that issue . The best time to come is in the week when most are woking and the range is available , assuming its more busy on the weekends . I will continue to partonize this business and hone my skills with my firearms and use the knowledge of the people who work their to become better at my new craft .

Today was my husband and I first visit. We went here to try our new concealed carry fire arms. The 2 guys in the front were so nice and hilarious. Very knowledgeable and their safety measures calmed my fears of being a brand new gun owner. Price to shoot is very affordable. We will be returning often! Thank you!

Excellent work with repairing fine and antique jewelry. They restored and repaired my grandmother s antique engagement ring when other stores told me it was too delicate to repair. My family has been coming to this store for all our jewelry repair needs for nearly 40 years. I m thankful to have someone we can trust!

Wow!!! Universal Jewelry did a wonderful job resizing both of our wedding rings and my other diamond ring. They look like brand new rings so shiny (no more scratches or dings) and the diamonds are bling bling. They told us they would be ready in a week and they had our rings done in 24 hours.

Great little shop. I went in for the range and they had very good procedures and took care of us very well. Prices were reasonable and the staff was very helpful. Ill be going again. Update : Came back with my fiance and service and staff were just as great! They ran us through the gun range rules thoroughly. Well keep coming back.

Walked in there to try the range for the first time. No loaded magazines they said after I spent an hour loading them before I arrived. So on a timed range session I am going to spend my time loading mags? I was also treated as a dangerous criminal when I went in my bag to get my reading glasses. He offered to go into my bag for me. Maybe because Im Hispanic or something. I have never been treated like that before so it was new for me. That was first time and the last. What a shame how people make fun things suck. So you blame the whole thing on me? Since reading the owners reply I can now see why the employees are this way. What a jerk!! Dont visit this establishment!!!!

Warming make sure you know the price by doing you online research for what you are buying. The gun I bought was mark up 30%. If you put a deposit they will charge you 20% restocking fee if you change you mind. They do not tell you this upfront.

Michael was very attentive and cleaned rings as I wanted to seriously consider them I would say I looked at about 25 rings total which he cleaned each one. I highly recommend this place for customer service and great value for the merchandise.

Awesome, no pressure shop. I went into this store to kick the tires, kill time and maybe pick up something that interested me. I told the guy what I was interested in and looked at a few rifles they had. Then spent about 20 minutes going over different options on the computer. I ended up buying a used rifle at a good/fair price that will fit my collection, but more so because the conduct of the employee. Ive been buying guns a long time and will definitely come back here.

A few things that are great about this spot, 1) beyond reasonable prices on products, 2) very reasonable and *respectful* negotiations, 3) to me the most important part is getting expert opinions and information from a family owned business that has this business and knowledge in their bloodlines! I use the range regularly and purchase all my fun stuff from here exclusively!

I went in there with expectations of a purchase. They have to buzz you in and out of their shop. I stood in there for over 5 minutes , looked in 3 or more shelves of items and not one person said anything to me at all. My time and gas was wasted going there. It took a lot out of me to go there for the purchase of a gift. I m unsure of why I wasn t treated as a valued prospective customer??? I ll never waste my time again going there for anything.

First time visitor to the range today with a party of three. Range is simple but clean and nice. Connor was awesome. One of our party was a new shooter with a new gun and experienced a couple malfunctions. Connor cleared them and assisted him. The perfect combination of being attentive and helpful without a hint of making anyone feel overly monitored. Will be back regularly.

Was my first time buying a gun, They made it simple and had great customer service everytime I walked through the door to make a payment. Had a 5 day wait and then came in pays the rest I owed and they gave me my pistol with a trigger lock.

Stopped by today with my wife to use the range and was not disappointed. Staff was helpful and friendly. Safety instructions were well explained and the range was clean. Ear and eye protection were also provided. I was debating weather to write this review as I want to keep this little gem of a range in Brandon to myself.

Not a pleasant experience. It took the staff nearly 20 minutes to ring us up, even though we were the only two customers at the range. Afterwards, we were briefly givin the dos and donts and a minor infraction incurred on my behalf. I drew and fired from my hip holster. An employee came in to give a warning, I apologized and continued shooting. After burning through most of my rounds, I cleared my pistol, without a magazine, and holstered my pistol. The lights flickered on and off, a dangerous practice in my opinion. After responding to the employees call, I was basically talked down to like some child and asked to pack up. I was literally being disciplined by someone I paid to render me a service, and was being asked to leave for simply holstering my unloaded weapon, a common and safe practice. Mind you, I was not repeating an offence, but simply containing my weapon in a safe an orderly fashion. By far, my worst experience from any range I have visited...

Went for the range based off of other reviews. I was not disappointed. The two gentlemen that I felt with were professional and helpful. The range was one of the nicest Ive been to. Well kept and in great shape. Yea its only a 15yd range. Its great to have one so close thats so nice. For ten bucks an hour for range time this little gem will definitely be a regular use range for me. They run a no nonsense range so follow the rules and enjoy the place and youll have a good experience.

If I could give this place a -1 star I most certainly would. Most of my family accustom to come to this facility frequently to practice in the range. Apparently they dont ever recognize familiar faces or frequent customers because they dont really care! There customer service and people skills blows! We recently went to purchase a troll motor that has been sitting there for over 8 months... that I am sure of. It may have been there longer. We negotiated a price with one of the owners...Will..he said $100 and I asked if he can do $90 he said no..I came back with $95.. keep in mind.. hes one of the owners. He should be able to make anything happen. I was joking around making conversation, telling him it was my husbands birthday another FIVE dollars off would mean a lot to us etc. As Im smiling and making conversation he literally has a dog face. No customer service skills whatsoever. We also had a gun on layaway (gift to our daughter) which we had already put $80 on. Come to find out as we were getting ready to pay for the motor as well...the so called owner (whom could not work with lowering it down another miserable $5 bucks) tells us they had restocked the gun because it had been to long (they NEVER COURTESY CALLED US) and that out of the $80 bucks we only had a $21 credit that we couldnt use either because our daughter that lives an hour away had to be there.. they didnt even give us the option to have her authorize over the phone. We know rules but we also know CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not only was he a miserable greedy a$$ over $5 stupid bucks they also stole our layaway money. He lost the sale of a troll motor over $5 bucks... because needless to say I walked away and they also lost the frequent family customers that will NOT be coming again together with everyone else I know. I have given these people the benefit of the doubt several times but that was my last time stepping foot in this racist, thieving, horrendous customer service location! Save yourself a headache and go spend your money wisely ELSEWHERE!

Mickey is the best employee there. I nominate him for employee of the year. The other people who work there range from abrasive to scary and I have been there 4 times. All prices are very high. If you just want to use the range its ok.

Friendly & helpful staff. Nice facility. Will definitely be back. Not the closest one to home, but well worth the drive. I have been to multiple indoor and outdoor ranges, but was the wifes first time. She cant wait to come back. Went through a few hundred rounds between us. Next time, different target for each distance marker to better gauge grouping/accuracy

I came in today as this place came highly recommended. Its close to me. This place is nice. The staff were nice and helpful especially Mickie. The indoor range is super nice. They have steel between stalls which is better than some larger locations that barely have protection between shooters (think of new shooters in a stall next to you). The lanes are nice even the holder to hold your target is better than others. I found this place to be top notch and not what you would expect inside a pawn shop.

Great shooting range, very well trained staff and always willing to help. This guys are very big on safety therefor this is the best range for a date with your significant other or first time shooters. Also, this is one CLEAN range, very private. When youre done shooting, they will show you some of yhe most awesome guns youve seen.

Im torn... I want to give a great review but I dont want the range to get too crowded you know? The inside is not what you would expect from the outside. Not your typical gun and pawn place. They have a TON of firearms as well as a nice clean range. Keep up the good work guys.

Well I can be picky about gun ranges however I have driven by this Pawn Gun Shop Shooting Range for yrs now never stopping to check. Well today I went in with my wife and son. I will say that I was promptly welcomed and the staff was polite and appeared genuine. I m a retired Deputy Sheriff and also a 6 yr veteran who served with 1/75 Ranger Batt and my son is assigned to the 75th STB unit. So we not experts however we do know what we speak about and the staff was knowledgeable. Range Quality For a smaller Range but well run. Also browsed after and saw some really nice guns with good price point! Military and 1st responder friendly. Will definitely be spending 2-3 days a week here as I tend to train a lot. I go to the gun range here every once in a while. Its a great pistol range, I never have to wait for a lane and the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. Their prices are also reasonable.

My fiancee and went here today to use the range and this place is awesome they make feel welcome when you walk in and the range its self is nice and clean only handgun calibers but thats fine with me and the two gentlemen that i delt with were very nice and friendly. Thank you guys for making my fiancees first time shooting comfortable

Very nice and umderstanding people. Family oriented business. We were going through hard times and had to pawn some things and when the payment came due we didnt have the money to pay on it but thay cared enough to be understanding and patient and worked with is anyway. They also will work with you on prices on items they are selling as well. Thank you Jennifer, Family and Staff!

This place is great. Bought jewelry from there and the staff was so attentive to my wife ( and myself ). I dont own a gun but was allowed to look inside of the range. I was impressed with the lighting and how clean it was. I will definitely be returning to their facility . The bonus is the owner also works there. It is truely owner/family based business. I can respect that, and will support this business. A+++ all the way. Thank you.

They have lots of eye candy in the firearms department. Everyone that I dealt with was great. Their indoor range was my reason for visiting & it did not disappoint. It is well lit, well ventilated, the equipment was in great shape, it was clean & most importantly the air conditioning works great. I cant wait to get back.

If you run a range...know your stuff. Apparently tula .380 ACP is steel core. I was wrong for shooting a few rounds in the Sig P238 but I got banned for life. Its a bimetal jacket with a lead core and I wish owners would be more educated in this area. Guess Ill just have to swap ranges.

Stopped in yesterday for first time to tour range and see for myself after reading a couple negative reviews. From the moment I walked in the door (20 minutes before closing) to the time I left, I was treated like family. All questions answered and a tour of a great looking indoor range left me very excited to find this place. Only wish I had found it sooner...update 21 Apr....returned today and spent two hrs in the nicest indoor pistol range I have ever been to in this area. Had a problem with my Walther and the staff were ready and eager to help, even fixed the issue with faster ammo. Outstanding customer service and friendly as family. Will be returning often!

I wish I could say something about the staffs knowledge, or quality of their stock. However; I barely made it in the front door. A grey haired man behind the counter began interrogating my wife and I on why we entered the store as soon as we crossed the threshold. He made us feel if we were inconveniencing him by even entering the establishment. After less than a minute of trying to answer his barrage of questions we left, and will never attempt to return.

I came in interested in purchasing a firearm and was immediately greeted by Carlos. He was VERY knowledgeable on the firearms and helped me in making my decision to purchase the Glock 42 handgun. So, after making the purchase I noticed online that they had the gun I bought for cheaper in other locations. So I spoke with the manager (I cant remember her name) she looked into it for me and ended up honoring the price I found it for. This is a 5 star pawn shop and very customer friendly and are there to help you out. I didnt come in for any pawn services but I can only imagine they would be just as helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone and am thankful to have been provided the service I was given!! Thanks Again!! *very pleased customer*

Ive bought a few things here. Its a medium sized, family run store. Help can be a little inconsistent. Some of the staff are wonderful, some less so. They have a lot of firearms. The store is not very well organized and rather cluttered but for guns, its a good stop. They also have a nice little range for shooting which I recommend. Definitely a good place, overall.

First time there but I found both Joe and Jeff to be very helpful and professional. Safety was stressed heavily making my wife feel comfortable with being there. Later after shooting Jeff spent a lot of time talking to us and helped us look for weapon my wife could use with the least problems. All in all a very good experience and we will be back. PS I should mention that women shoot free on Tuesdays, and that was an added bonus for us.

Was passing by this place and just stopped in to see how it was....guys were real cool...range is nice...and 10 bucks range fee and the wife shot for free (ladys free on Tuesdays) was awesome...very pleased and will return and use the shirt I bought to get my range fee at 5 bucks!

Walked in Yesterday on my lunch break to have a look at some of their older SKS Rifles. Found one that I was interested in purchasing. tag price was 199 and i offered 160, the kind lady ( i believe the daughter) went to the back of the store and spoke wiht someone and said 179.00 is where theyre at. I said ok well let me come back with my wallet tomorrow when i have more time to purchase it. Today I come in and walk straight to the counter, I saw the rifle i was purchasing that day and had the cash in my pocket. The older gentlemen who ive never met before picked it up for me and i said im actually here to purchase this one. I spoke with her and after she consulted with someone in the back she offered to sell it for 179. The man immediately went rude/smart ass and said well then i guess you should of bought this yesterday because the tag says 199 and im not going lower. Taken back i was surprised at how much of a jerkoff this guy could be to someone who had previously been to his store twice and negotiated a deal. BEWARE BAIT AND SWITCH - you wouldnt think someone in that bad of a shape would lip up tto someone like me

THIS RANGE AND SHOP IS BY FAR THE BEST IVE EVER BEEN TO. THEY ARE FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED. EVERYONE GETS TREATED LIKE FAMILY. ALWAYS PREPARED TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. THEY ALSO ARE JEWELERS HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME. THEY ALWAYS HAVE AMMO! THE RANGE IS AMAZING... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

Ive gone to this shop many times for use of the gun range. The prices are pretty high for everything other than the range fee($10). I recommend bringing all your targets/ammo as youll pay a premium for them on-site. The staff is very nice and helpful. I didnt like the clean-up system them have to pick up casings. They have a rubber floor and a rubber squeegee to sweep up your shells or a rolling case picker. Neither work well; enough of a pain for me not to want to go back. The range is small (10 lanes) and with the air-flow system, to keep fresh air pumping in, my targets ended up blowing all over the place. Good if your looking for a moving target, but I wasnt. Overall, if you just want to squeeze off a box or two, its not a horrible place to go but Ive seen/been to better.
