Avoid unless you want a massive headache. They sold our mortgage to a disgraced company and let us know a day after our automatic monthly payment was sent to them. I understand this is something that happens, but the notice give is extremely unprofessional. Now I have to figure out how to get the payment reversed. In addition, I have to find out who the new mystery loan servicer is and figure out how to pay online. I am not 100 years old and have no intention of mailing checks each month. What an absolute joke...

I worked with Lonnie.....for months....barely got return phone calls. Then was told no....went to Major Mortgage and they hauled bunns to get me approved and I just closed on a house with them. I really wouldnt bother with Academy unless ya need to. Last I heard from them was ....hey...go somewhere else ..... so I did :) Thanks for the advice lol

While shopping for a home loan Mary Jane was the only one who didnt speak to me as a salesperson. I had the impression she was there to help me rather than sell me something, and in fact she did. I m the third member of our family and extended family who has worked with Mary Jane to secure a mortgage. This is also my second time working with Mary Jane as we purchased a different house. I would recommend Mary Jane to anyone. She has all the qualities of a good mortgage officers. She walks one though the entire process, works hard to find the best loan options, welcomes question and is always willing to get back to you and your real estate agent. Not only does she bring her expertise to the home buying process she is also connected. She is the one who recommended a real estate agent whom we still use to members of our family and extended family. This recommendation was as important as the work she did to help us get the needed financing. Trust me, not all real estate agents are the same and it is hard to find a good agent. She has even worked with younger member of our family to help them see where they stand when it comes to buying a house and the best course of action for their dream of owning a house. Id say most loan officers would not even consider doing this.

Adam Buniger at Academy Mortgage has been amazing to work with over the past 6 years! In that time he has helped us with two mortgages and a refinance. We werent sure the timing was right or the benefit was meaningful enough, and MJ went out of her way to answer our questions and let us figure things out on our own. We sought out help from MaryJane Douma at the recommendation of our real estate agent, Barb Hecht. From the beginning of the process, I feel like we had a clear road map of the process we would be going through. This put us at ease, as this was our first home buying experience. There are a lot of things to keep up with, leading towards closing, and MaryJane helped keep us on track, and we did not miss any deadlines, and did indeed close our loan/purchase on time, as scheduled. Update: after our initial mortgage, Jolene has helped us refinance two times and lower our interest rate both times. We are now paying less monthly for a twenty year mortgage than our original thirty year!! Jolene worked so hard to get our mortgage done. Academy mortgage provided us with amazing assistance with purchasing our first home. We moved to Colorado from Michigan so we expected the process to be very stressful. I have used her multiple times and she always comes through, answers any questions i have and walks you through the process with ease. Always keeps you updated on were you are in the process and gives you a pretty accurate estimate on your loan before applying for it. Very professional, i would highly recommend her. I was able to drop my home payments around 300$ a month.

What a process! As a first time home buyer, Mary Jane did a tremendous job of walking me through everything. When I had worries or doubts, she reassured me and answered all of my questions. Merica Street was very knowledgeable and professional. She would constantly make sure things kept rolling to get to closing on time. Merica is the best!! I purchaser my first home a little over a year ago and Merica was by my side ensuring and supporting me ghe entire way through the daunting process. I wasnt sure what ti exoect going into it and hinestly had alot of fears, doubts and a TON of questions. Merica soothed all those doubts ans fears AND answered my questions! More recently i refinanced and again, she answered all mt questions and was very supporting/ informative about what this decision would mean for me! Being a first time home buyer is a scary experience. So many things to know and learn. We thought the process would be extremely difficult but with Jolene Hanson she made the whole thing relatively painless.
