This place is a joke, simple math seems to be an issue with them. They charged me for an inactive account that they suggested I open but then never used. I was then charged for an inactive account. Customer service was nothing but condescending and insulting. I also had over $300 in fraud that they just ignored. When I went to my branch to get help with fraud on my account I was told I had to call their 800 number. They charge some of the highest fees also. I really like Kirkpatrick bank downtown and First National of Colorado in Flying Horse.

We sent this letter to the branch manager at SSFCU Barnes Rd branch: We are writing to express our thanks for the help we received from your employee, Rachel Costley. My wife and I recently retired and moved to Colorado Springs from Anchorage, Alaska. We were assured by our credit union in AK (Global FCU) that we would have no problem transferring funds from our joint savings account to our new account(s) at Security Service FCU, which Rachel set up for us quickly and efficiently. However, Global started throwing up roadblocks to the funds transfer that we did not expect, and we were faced with the prospect of having to do multiple transfers over the course of a month, or flying back to Alaska to personally withdraw our funds. We were understandably frustrated and discouraged. But this is where Rachel comes in she thought outside the box started making phone calls on our behalf and brainstormed a solution for us that we had not thought of and the result was, within an hour we had ALL of our funds moved from Alaska to SSFCU. We were overjoyed that Rachel was able to move heaven and earth to help us. During our visit, Rachel set up joint checking and savings accounts for us .helped us invest in high yield CDs and did a direct IRA rollover from my former employers 401K account. She was friendly and positive and devoted literally hours to giving us personal service, and by doing so, Rachel confirmed for us that our choice to become members of Security Service FCU was the right choice. Her efforts earned our loyalty to your institution over your competitors. We want you to know how much we appreciate Rachel s efforts to help us. She is an exemplary employee. I recently retired as a TV news anchor and manager after 47 years in the news business and my wife retired after 20 years as a manager with Safeway Corporation. We both worked in fields where customer service and satisfaction was crucial and we ve supervised hundreds of employees during our careers. Rachel Costley impressed us both with her personal approach that made us feel valued and the way she represented your institution was of the highest quality. Amazing experience accounts set up with ease. I had so many questions , all answered with words I could understand! Rachel signed up for power checking. I went in to deposit some money into my account which was earning .25% interest when wonderful amazing Liz recommended some much better options for me to earn more money . She offered 4.85% on a 7 month cd and had it set up for me in just a few minutes. She listened to our needs and made an excellent recommendation based on what we told her. I had my sister-in-law move from Alabama to Colorado Springs to start a new life. The first thing she needed to do was setup a new banking account. Since I was already a very satisfied member of this great establishment, I figured it would be a great treat for my sister-in-law to enjoy the many benefits that come with the Power Protected Checking Account. We gathered our dogs (who were very welcomed and received) and went to our local branch to see Henry Batty, our friendly and funny account representative to set everything up. He was so full of knowledge and explained everything to my sister-in-law. He explained some stuff that I didnt know about when I had my account set up at the Fort Carson branch. I really recommend that when you decide to open an account at the Security Service Federal Credit Union, you make an appointment with Henry at the Barns Road branch. He will give you so much information about the benefits offered at their Credit Union. Also, he will mention, but make sure you ask about the promotional CDs that they offer with great locked in rates to make all that extra money you may need. All of the personnel that were working at the bank were so friendly, greeting us with a Welcome to Security Service. What stood out above the rest was MaryAnn Dunn, the Branch Manager. She took her time to come visit us and welcome us to her Credit Union Branch. She was so nice and told us if there was anything that we could possibly need, to come see her and pointed to where her office was located. MaryAnn also pointed out the Financial Manager guy that could guide us with personal finances or setting up retirement accounts and what not. The establishment of Security Service Federal Credit Union along with the management led by MaryAnn to include Henry (Our 5 Star Representative) are the Top-Notch Credit Union in Colorado Springs.

My husband and I made an appointment to visit this branch and get some accounts set up. We have a very particular situation and were not very hopeful to find a solution... but when we got there, we immediately felt reassured as we were told they had already been looking into our case to find the best solution, and they did! I opened an account with Security Service Federal Credit Union and I was surprised about what they have to offer their members! Rachel was so helpful and knowledgeable about all of the questions I had and even made an appointment with one of their representatives about investing! I didnt even know they had options for IRAs and CDs. They even offer telehealth to their member.... you can say I was surprised by how much they offer and how knowledgeable their staff are (especially Ms. Rachel)!

Went to SSFCU branch in Colorado Springs. To check and compare Homeowners insurance . For someone who normally goes to the Briargate location. I went here yesterday to get a new card since my previous card had to be shut down due to fraud. I was sent to Tremell to work with me. This man went above and beyond to ensure I got my credit card. Even though he couldn t resolve the issue that day, Tremell told me that he will make a note of this to get the issue resolved!

When I had questions he answered them very kindly and not in a snoody way. He was very polite and encouraging. Very glad I was able to be helped by Tremell! I never got the name of the man who helped first, at the desk, but he was also very kind and a great help, he was also very gracious. so it was a great visit with great customer service!

Tremell was excellent! I have been banking with Security Service for over 10 years, and I can say that this representative was one of the best yet. He followed up with me each day until all my accounts were resolved, as well as knew all standards when other representatives didn t have a clue. Heather went through the process with me in detail, and even gave me a lot of information on many of the services that Security Services offers to its customers. I feel that my private information truly is secure and protected at Security, which is why I ve never used anyone else. They truly do care about their customers and work to offer the best. This is my local branch but every time I have gone in I wait ridiculous amounts of time to be helped or I get turned away and told to make an appointment. Because of this I end up traveling to the Briargate location which has always provided fast and friendly service. This shows me the issue is 100% with the way the branch is run. Super sad that this branch is unable to provide adequate service.

On 11/12/22 someone entered the branch and tried to fraudulently cash a phony check against my back account. Lucas P. immediately contacted me and the fraud was stopped. The next business day, he met me at my branch on Academy to personally handle the closing of the account and opening me a new one. I didnt realize this level of service still existed. Thank you Lucas!

Well I should have read the review below mine because I ve had the same issue! They put a 7 day hold on my checks, (I ve never had a bad check) then they rack up the overdraft fees. I had a check held, they didn t mention the hold, I spent less than $175 in that account in 7days and I had 10 overdraft fees totaling $325. These guys are crooks, the worst bank I ve ever dealt with, definitely not small business friendly.

I want to say that Elizabeth Camacho was awesome and greeted me immediately and asked why I was there. Then she got me two bottles of water because they re so small and said it would take few more minutes to finish up with the members she was currently helping and then she would be right with me. She was able to get the ball rolling on resolving my issue and took down my phone number and assured me that she would touch base with me next week to make sure everything got completely resolved. If all employees were as attentive and quick to respond to their customers as Elizabeth was to and for me there would be many more happy people in the world! I have no doubt things will be back in order on my account by next week. She is an excellent member relationship officer for SSFCU and I believe she deserves recognition for it. The place is clean, Ill give them that. Decent parking. The good ends there. Rude woman at the customer service counter spoke over my wife regarding a misunderstanding. We came to open an account. Perhaps if we were wearing suits,not short sleeves with tattoos she would have treated us like she treated the people before and after us in line. So we left and were taking our business elsewhere.
