When I first walked into Elliott Salters Pawnshop, I knew and felt something very special about this place. Once I met Elliott, Joe and David I understood why the shop was so special. They are there to help all of their customers every way they can and not there to harm or take anything away from you for themselves. Their customer service is at the highest level with the convenience of phone text notifications of store hours & days open updates, loan info like ticket numbers, current due dates, interest payments with debit cards to extend loans and keeping your information current with them at all times to stay on top with all of their customers. I will never go to another pawnshop again as long as Elliotts Pawnshop is around. This is The Greatest Pawnshop without a doubt this side of the World. Elliott has proven himself to be the Greatest Pawnshop owner that has ever lived in the world with his undying loyalty and love for his family of customers like myself that has required Mr. Salters extreme patience throughout the history of my large loan on a vintage Fender Hardtail Stratocaster. I have lived in LA and other major cities across the globe for a very long time. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that this is not only the best pawn shop in the world but probably one of the greatest stores in general. Period. Elliott Salter is the best!! Ive been coming here for decades in my time of need. You never know what will happen in life, for instance when you unexpectedly got knocked upside your head with things like the severe worldwide financial crisis of 2007-2008, or the living nightmare everyone experienced called COVID, among other life changes you just dont see coming. Elliott Salter is a lifeline in your time of need. One time I came in with a guitar I really never used yet didnt want to part with so being in need of some cash I took it to Elliott Salter Pawnshop, upon inspecting it one of his crew noticed the output jack was totally loose to the point of practically dangling. Did he turn me away? No, he took the time to see if he had a part needed to get it working and fixed it on the spot!! Elliott and his entire crew are simply the best. Another review here states that Elliott Salter is a Hollywood Legend....... He certainly is.

I ve been going to Elliott s for over 30 years , my first time when I was nineteen years old and I wanted to sell my stereo to buy a pair a boots I couldn t live without!! LOL. Elliot and everyone I ve met there over the years from Ed to Dave make each and every time I visit a pleasant experience. Great photos of the item and description was accurate. Instructions for holding the item were simple and easy. Once I arrived they were wreaths hosts and gave me a chance to check electronics and functionality of the guita. Noticed they have great pieces of music gear. Thanks again

Ive been a customer of Elliotts for over 35 years. I wouldnt go to any other pawnbroker after Elliott. My experience has been nothing short of excellent. Great staff, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Elliott has saved my stuff for me on more than one ocassion in the past. Thank God for his understanding during the Corona nightmare. Of course in the old days we looked forward to seeing Gracie when we walked in the door. Miss Gracie much. I bought a bike from here and I was very happy with the whole experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They let me look it over thoroughly and didnt pressure me at all. The tires wouldnt stay inflated, so they offered to cover the cost of taking it to a bike shop to fix. Couldnt be happier with the experience.

Wow.. These cats are a real class act. I was immediately aware of just how professional this shop was when the item I brought in was gently overlooked and placed back in its case. In a confident tone the gentleman confirmed its make and model. Ive been thru my fair share of loan shops and its a 50/50 chance of walking out with something close to what you want. Uncle Elliott, as I have come to crown him has the most trustworthy shop in town. Elliott and his team are friendly, helpful and completely trustful. The keyword here for me is trust. Ive known Elliott and have stored my personal items in his shop for over 20 yrs. plus. A musician friend of mine told me to go there in my early stage of the music biz, to look for equipment. Ahhhh . Elliott Salter. When I was pooling all my resources to start my biz, I came to Elliott with my gold. I love this man! And his family! And his staff! They gave me a great loan on my stuff, were hysterical and sweet all at the same time, and have the coolest stuff to gaze upon in their shop. They always worked with me if I had a challenge so I could stay on track and get things paid down and, all the whole, were gracious the whole way. Pawn shop? Really, a people shop. Yes. I First walked into this pawnshop when I was a young struggling musician and he had just opened up- yes that was a long time ago- And in All my years I ve never known a kinder gentler man. Elliot Salter has a heart of a lion and the fairness of a judge. I love these guys, there are the nicest and kindest people you could possibly meet. I came in one time and i needed 250$ to dix my car, the item i brought in wasnt really worth 250 in a pawn and others like the world famous Zaks pawns shop shot me down and made me feel less of a person when i was there. But Elliotts pawn gave me the 250 and they never make me feel awkward for having to pawn, other pawn shops say they are the best but in all reallity elliots pawn is the fairest and most helpful pawn shop ive ever been to. They dont try and low ball you and hurt you just because your in a tough spot. They understand and will help you as much as they can. I very highly recommend elliots pawn!! Ive tried all of the other so called great pawn shops in hollywood and i promise you that elliot and his team will treat you the best and they treat you like family!!!! I have been going to this place for almost 40 years! Elliot Salter is not only an incredible place to shop for incredible treasures but Elliot himself is a gem!! He is always fair in his dealings and has been amazing to work with as far as loans go as well, I would and never do go anywhere else! Ive bought and sold things here over 5 times this is not your typical pawn shop! Not only have they been in business over 20 years there friendliness knowledge and fairness is outstanding!!! I brought them one of my gold chains to be fixed the clasp needed to be gold soldered! They did a very very good job exactly what I wanted! I will for sure keep coming back!!!!

They really came through for me. They were straight forward, fair, and empathetic to my situation. I would even go so far as to say they gave me added value on some items they sensed were difficult for me to part with just to make me feel better about the situation I found myself in. They have no interest in ripping anyone off or exploiting those who are down on their luck. If you forget the timing of the term on your loan, they ll call. If you have misplaced your notes, they have copies of everything. They are helpful, organized, and care much more about relationships and giving someone a fair shake than they do about taking advantage of your situation. It was and still is a pleasure to work with those guys. I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to them. I went in to get rid of some old things that were no longer serving me and make some money of coarse. I found out they weren t worth much of anything, so I did t make any money but I met some great guys that gave me some great advice. I don t think I was supposed to go in there to sell anything anyway. Excellent staff and Elliot himself is a national treasure. They ll treat you fair, pay top dollar and your stuff is safe. The guys are knowledgeable, nice and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you get what you need. These guys are the BEST!! The last pawn shop in Los Angeles. I would never go anywhere else. It is what a pawn shop is supposed to be. Old school gentlemen with great customer care and etiquette. Such a unique place! A pawn shop that also has the feel of something out of a Harry Potter movie set! Randomly found a guitar ad on OfferUp, and it was this store selling a guitar. I m used to pawn shops being unreasonably priced, but the guitar I bought was such a good deal! As I was hanging out there, I looked at the price tag of the other guitars, everything was extremely fair in price. I will definitely go back for other gear. Also, the staff and particularly Elliot were welcoming and friendly.

There was times in my past when I needed money quick this place saved the day for me more than once by lending me cash... and there has been times when I had an item laying around that I wanted to get rid of I bring it to them they buy it how easy no meeting strangers from the internet to sell an item how safe...last but not least they have such a wide variety of stuff to buy! I have been a collector all my life its a hobby and fun they deal in watches jewelry music equipment music instruments tools nice bikes items of value art and many other random things ... last but not least if you are on a tight budget like me they will work with you and allow you to put a small down payment and pay off the item in fair monthly payments ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

Anyone that uses pawn shop a lot like me knows that one of the most important things is...just to be treated well, and dealt with in a friendly-manner. A good pawn shop wont try to make you feel bad because you need a loan. A good pawn shop will use Ebay to determine a fair value for your item and not just try to low-ball you. A good pawnshop will learn your name if you do business often. Anyway, were new to LA within the last 6 months, and so I was looking for a good pawn shop here I could trust to do biz with long-term and I am SO glad I went to Elliot Salter first. Not only was the pawn transaction good, but the guys were really cool and were *genuinely* friendly and I really appreciated that. Now after many months of going to them, I dare call them friends? I know its LA, but these guys made me feel like home. Anyway, I wouldnt go anywhere else but Elliots pawnshop. 9 stars!:-)
