Ryan was there every step of the way. I had a complicated escrow process as I needed my eventual ex-husband to sign off on a quit claim to close escrow. He refused multiple times. Five star experience working with Phi Nguyen! As first time homebuyers, the concept of buying a house felt overwhelming. My wife and I simply did not know where to start. We had spoken to our banks as early as 2021 regarding mortgage options. Both of our banks services felt impersonal here are some numbers for you, minimal-to-no explanation offered, do you want us to run your credit? Both experiences were off-putting and, frankly, scared us away from purchasing the same home we literally just closed on back in 2021 when a direct sale was initially offered to us. I wish we would have known to look to Phi back then. Fast forward two years, our former landlords offered us the opportunity to purchase the home again. The first place we shopped was Rocket Mortgage. That felt even more disconnected than our banks constant phone calls, emails, texts at random times of the day it was a nightmare. After telling our landlords that we would have to pass on the house again, they recommended we contact Phi for more options. After the first phone call with Phi, a lightbulb went off. Finding a mortgage for our budget didn t have to feel faceless, stressful, and uncomfortable. Finally, we were speaking with somebody that was making an effort to connect with us. The conversations were natural, his questions felt sincere, and, for the first time, someone was taking the time to allow us to feel fully informed. The difference was night and day. Ryan provided me with the greatest experience as a first time homebuyer. It was pain-free and full of explanations. I never felt alone and he was patient and had a great team who was also supportive. Myesha and Davis were great at their job and was so pleasant all the time. Not only are they great at their Job but it was a pleasure to know that my loan officer has the same faith as I did and was believing with me throughout this process.

Summit made countless errors and were unacceptably slow, leading me to not close on time (barely within the extension period even) and to lose money/opportunity to negotiate. Incompetencies include: - undercalculating my funds to close by $55K and notifying me of the error the day before I needed to wire the funds - when the notary was at my house to sign final docs, I had to reprint many pages containing errors - verbally assuring me that Wells Fargo would not reduce my appraisal an additional time, which was a lie, and Wells Fargo reduced the appraisal again by $70K THE DAY of scheduled close - asking immaterial questions already late into the extension period (e.g., informing me that they never received confirmation of my employment over the past couple weeks which I resolved within minutes once I was made aware) - asking me questions about my file late in the game/under critical timing which were already answered weeks prior and were immaterial - all documents contained errors, even errors that we previously told them to correct - didnt communicate effectively with the title company delaying the funding of the loan when timing was critical - generally being assured we would close on time when it seems that was never a possibility given how slow they operated (including a change in staff part way through my file preparation) - Summit took no responsibility for any mistakes, and acted as though they were doing us a favor when we could have initially used any lender. Unfortunately, as I became aware of how bad the service is, it was too late to change lenders (an unfortunately flaw in the business from a customer standpoint) - inexperienced staff that apparently dont even understand what tax instalments are - missed including my largest asset on my loan application that was completed by their team (caveat that perhaps there was a reason why, but doesnt seem logical to me) - I could go on with specific examples. I may note that we were very responsive, organized, and are financially stable salaried employees. We should be as good as customers come. Yet despite this, our mortgage process was a disaster and I wish we went with our initial lender that we were considering. In fact, Summits rates were some of the worst we saw until they matched the competing lender that I was going to go with.

My husband and I were blessed to have such an awesome team in our corner! Tim and Michele helped our family close on a very difficult, nearly 80 day escrow due to problems with the seller. Their normal, fast close time had to be pushed back due to tenants and repairs the seller was not taking care of. Tim and Michele were not only our financial heroes in this purchase, but they were our shrink to help calm us when things got crazy, comedy relief to help laugh off the smaller hurdles and truly treated us like family going above and beyond a business transaction. We had a wonderful experience with Summit Funding and Jamie & Ed. Summit Funding was recommended by our Real Estate agent as the best loan company to deal with. We live in Oregon and were buy a house that was a 6 hour drive away from us in California. At first, we were a little nervous dealing with a loan officer over the phone instead of face to face, but we warmed up very quickly to Jamie. We felt throughout the house purchase transaction that they really had our back. They gave very good advice on the whole purchase process. Every question we asked, they were ready with an answer. All the paperwork signing worked well through email. We would definitely use Summit Funding again. Jamie, you are the best!!

Tim took the time to PERSONALLY be involved throughout the entire transaction. Unlike some other experiences where you get drawn in only to be passed along to nothing but supporting staff for the entire process, Tim was always available and informed. His supporting staff was of course top notch to compliment Tim. Michelle & Haley were professional, quick to gather information, and of course friendly.

I started the process of buying a house with a preapproval that didnt require any proof of information. My real estate agent told me about Ken and his team, and we got in contact. This is an amazing team. Kristen walked me through their preapproval process and I got her most of the documents that were needed for underwriters later. Once I was preapproved, kelly did an amazing job of getting the loan through. Between my gifted down payments, unusual title requests, and the seller backing out of the deal the first time around, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. However, I really felt like I was in good hands. Ken was in regular contact with my real estate agent, so I knew that there was a team sitting by for me when I needed it. I live a very busy life, so not having to go into an office every day to handle these things was nice for me. However, they are local so when I needed to see someone, they were there. In the end, I have my house, we closed on time (despite everything), and my loan terms are decent. I couldnt ask for more. This team is very good and knowledgeable. Thank you.
