She was very friendly and polite, she made my wife and I feel so comfortable and welcome. Edna really was what made the final decision for us to open our account. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!! Hello everyone, I just switched from a bank that I had been with for over 34 years to Monterey CU. I worked with Chris the loan officer to open my account, set up auto pays, refi my car loan and obtain a personal loan to consolidate things. Chris made this transition quick and easy! His professionalism was exemplary! Everything I was promised was followed through and followed up on by Chris. Every time I had a question it was easy to get in contact with him via phone, text or email! I also had the pleasure of working with a few other members who were also professional with wonderful customer service! I recently purchased a new car and was referred to Marissa to refinance my loan, in which she went above and beyond! This place has given me so many headaches, it s always a hassle. ATM has not worked the last 3 times I ve tried in the past 10 days. A while back one their bankers confused a deposit to my account for a withdrawal(in their favor). She refused to admit her mistake, called a manager over and ended up looking quite foolish

Used MCU to finance my first car. Christopher Smith was super helpful in walking me through this process prior to purchasing my vehicle and once purchased. Got the best APR with MCU compared to other lenders, received $200 from MCU for the auto loan, an additional 0.25% off by signing up for autopay, another $200 for opening a checking account, and was able to skip a payment for the first 3 months! Was also able to communicate easily with chris via phone and text! Highly recommend MCU and reaching out to Chris. Nicole was also very kind and explained to me how credit unions work. Thank you!

I had the pleasure of working with Marissa Nelson to open a checking and savings account; although I have only been with them a short time I just wanted to commend her on their customer service. Over the years I have held accounts at banks like Chase, local credit unions and several different online bank accounts (NetSpend, Revolut and PayPal to name a few) and the thing that stands out about them all is that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HOLD OF ACTUAL HUMAN FOR HELP IN REAL-TIME(or so difficult and time consuming a process that it might as well be). Marissa was super friendly and helpful and promptly responded Via text message to all my questions when I needed help setting up an Internet banking account. I tend to forget to follow through with things because I have so much going on but when I lagged she kindly sent me reminders and made sure I did everything required on my end to get the $200 promo. I will be closing my online accounts and replacing them with Monterey credit union and highly recommend them if youre local.

Completely just outstanding service everyone in the building is extremely friendly always says hi when you walk in the door and is always willing to help with anything you need. I went in today to pay my auto loan and Jessica helped me out as well as Candace and Jessica suggesting I open a checking account and get a free $200, they both are just amazing. They sent me over Chris and in just 30 minutes, he helped me open a checking account. Just recently, Candace and Kathryn, told me about this special promotion that is currently going on where if you open their free checking account and deposit one hundred dollars, the bank writes you a check of two hundred dollars... that same day! This is a terrible bank. They do not give accurate information when opening checking accounts. They refuse to apologize for errors on their part. No follow up with ATM disputes after proper documention filled out. Terrible customer service. Find another bank!

The truth is that I tried to confirm to make a payment on my loan, no one assists you, you try to do it on the Internet, it doesnt let you, the truth is, it is the worst bank that I have ever touched, I just want to end there, I will never mess with this bank, it is the worst.

Worst bank ever. They do not call or answer calls. Claim payments were not recieved when dropped off at after hours drop box. Reposses cars multiple times with the same claim of non payment. Take days to respond with invoice to begin getting repossesed cars out all the while the dingy repo company they use in Salinas collects daily holding fees. Customer representatives at the bank are rude and not helpful, refuse to give corporate information, all while trying to push you to sign up for a checking account with them. Ruining credit scores, while raking in money. Thats what I call good business practices.

Took a month and 10 days for the old auto loan lender to receive the payoff check. No follow through from my loan officer, no checking in to see after a month if the check had cleared. If I hadnt gotten involved Id be paying to lenders right now. No call back multiple times from the loan officer OR the supervisor that I asked be involved. As a matter of fact he said he would be handling it himself but still I received calls from the loan officer who I had to bring up to speed myself. Last time I do business with them. So much for customer service. Youd think a local bank would give better service to the members of the community that it represents.

Huge difference between this location and the salinas office.. someone at the door being nice and really helpful. Also the vibe is very different, thats because everyone inside being nice to cuatomers... on the other hand, location in salinas, most of the people at salinas seem to hate their job, give you attitude and the guy by the dooor ignoring people, like if we couldnt see him through the glass acting like if he cant see the person knocking or wondering why they cant go inside.

I use to love this bank not sure if it the same management but the office in Salinas when Liz was there never any problem. Now not only do they not care about customers they make fell uncomfortable a bother I was sitting down waiting for the manager I decided to call customer service when finally she came out to help and instead of helping or listening she said there was nothing she could do about my over draft charges when the money was in the bank so not sure if she knows what she is doing

I have banked with MCU for over 10 years. Initially, the service was very good but steadily declined to the point where I can no longer use this bank. And buyer beware....My account was hacked at least 6 times; 2 times within the past 4 weeks and whats most irritating is that I get the third degree when I speak to either a real person at the bank or the dispute dept. Its really just lip service but I imagine every bank is that way; the plastic smile. Im adding a second star in this edit on 01/07/2020 due to the fact that I got 2 calls from 2 people at MCU following the last incident of identity theft. One of them had just read my review and wanted to help. Actually they were both very helpful and relieved both my sense of anxiety and misdirected anger at the bank. In reality, the bank absorbs the monetary loss in these cases although I would prefer the bank not having to absorb any loss due to fraudulent use of a debit card.

This place doesnt care about there customers they only care about how to get your money from you to the bank. Terrible credit union its a bank realistically. your supposed to be a member with a credit union. Here they charge you to talk to a teller. WTF. As soon as I can get there I am closing my account. P.S. mandatory you have $25 in your savings account and if you close before 6 months they take it. Wasnt told that when I signed up. Was supposed to be on e file... Nope been charged $10 a month for the last 3 months even though Ive gone in and called and was told the problem had been corrected sir. B.S. avoid this place like the black plague.

Was a customer for 5 years and I closed my accounts today. The teller was very rude and never spoke to me the entire time. She handed me my receipt and I had to ask where my money was. If any piece of mail is returned to them, they charge you $10!! The loan officer was also rude and very obviously did not care how long we had been customers, it is ALL about credit scores. Which did not even match the actual scores we have! Poor customer service all the way around at this location. And it is so unfortunate because 5 years ago this place was amazing. Serious on the job training needed now!

Not at all a Credit Union. They more than nickel and dime you at every turn. If youre down on your luck or just moved to the area and havent found your nitch yet you certainly wont get any help here. Maybe if you have alot of money it might be different. They dont have any of the assurances Ive been accustomed to at my old Credit Union. Certainly no better than banking with a regular bank.. At least a bank is convenient
