I have been with Patelco Credit Union for well over 40 YEARS being Single, through 2 marriages and beyond! I absolutely loved Patelco and this ransomwear , Malware, or hackers whatever you call them that attacked an institution like Patelco is unimaginable. I really thought my account and Patelco institution was secure and safe but for them to attack all its servers, members etc all at once and virtually crippling all its members is unthinkable and I actually read somewhere that some credit unions (being a not for profit) focus more on their members than on security and this is a testament to that. I also know Patelco made a lot of changes to there website and in doing so maybe left them vulnerable to attack (maybe) who know but, what I do know is I can’t pay any of my financial obligations without making myself vulnerable by giving out my information to several creditors instead of using my bill pay service. They are hurting its members in multiple ways!!! I spent hours on the phone with creditors and no one even knows about Patelco’s breach and Patelco has NOT BEEN VERY TRANSPARENT!! WHO are they working with to fix this issue? What’s taking so long more than 2 weeks and counting and they are refusing to give me my money! Seriously 😳 I wouldn’t be surprised if they loose 20% or more of there clients! This may just bankrupt or cripple them. This is unacceptable!!! I am lost for words and this should be a wake up call for us all to have back up accounts or go with an institution that takes security precautions more seriously!! Unfortunately it’s not Patelco as I lost confidence in them.

Awesome customer service. Mark Davis is the man. He is always very helpful and doesn’t like to waste your time. He is straight to business, which I love because I am a very busy guy. If for some reason you do need more time he also is willing to work things out with you at whatever pace you need. I love this credit union and will never go elsewhere. My experience at Patelco was like no other. I went in met with Mr. Mark Davis an we spoke about my situation and how I want to better my finances. He gave me plenty of advice as to how we will move forward with the process to get me to where I want to be. Tried to withdraw money from my account after the whole hacking incident, and I ran into an issue here. There was this Mexican lady who gave me a hard time about withdrawing my money. She DEMANDED i give her an answer. I replied, it s personal . She almost refused to give me MY MONEY. I almost snapped. Needless to say, I will NEVER bank here again!! I was able to only withdraw half of my money. I went to another location and had no issue withdrawing the rest of it there. The lady at this location needs to be retrained. Hate dealing with stupid people.

Be wary of this bank! Been here for a long time but what the security guard did today 12/11/23 made me suspicious of it overall. He came over to where I parked @5:51PM(I didnt think much it). Then when I finished with the teller, I was in the lobby counting my money when I saw him looking at me through the window. When I left at 5:57, he walked to car and took a photo of my license plate on his phone (white iphone). Now at his car, he kept staring as he was changing his shoes from his trunk. I got scared and left. I am never going back to this bank, thats enough for me!

ATMs always say temporarily unavailable for cash withdrawals. It can t be considered temporary if its ALL the time. Just get rid of the ATMs or save people time by taping them off.

WENT TO PATELCO MARCH 9 around 12 pm. Performed a transaction with Melanie. After finishing transaction, went shopping nearby for over half an hour/ an hour, when I came back to do another transaction, MY ACCOUNT WAS STILL UP ON HER SCREEN, SHE HAD MY ACCOUNT UP LOOKING AT MY ACCOUNT FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. IS THIS STANDARD PROCEDURE AT FREMONT BRANCH?!! ALSO FOR PROOF, another member was there to WITNESS THE WHOLE THING, friend name is VIJAY. Then got a credit card remade, worked one time then DECLINED. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!

My wallet lost and the Patelco clerk told me she would close my losy credit card. She did not close it and someone used it with no pin. And kept using it. And Patelco ruined my credit card and credit score telling me they closed the card, but they didnt. Then I contacted Patelco and explained that is their fault. They said it was my fault. Thats how safe your money will be with these type of scoundrels.

Their finance experts dont understand how Roth Iras work. Withdraws of amounts equal to or less than contribution amount DO NOT have a 10% penalty or taxes. Their expert insisted i would still get penalized. Also brushed me off when i tried to explain it to him.

Went to the atm here to get a large sum of cash out for a wedding gift. Realized that I had all 20 s I went into the bank to ask if they could exchange the 20 s for larger bills and they denied me because I don t have an account with them. Really? One time you can t help me out? Whatever

Updating my review because of my dude, Cameron. Walked in to talk about another issue regarding my accounts not being set up correctly. With in seconds he said that isn t right, and was able to set up my accounts to work properly so I m not receiving any more random charges for amounts I can cover! My mother was an early Patelco member, and helped my siblings and me open accounts when we were younger. Sadly she passed away and we had to deal with closing all her accounts. Mark Davis patiently helped us through the process. He is an example of what proper customer service looks like, as he was extremely accommodating with what turned out to be a fairly time-consuming process. My siblings and I continue to be Patelco members, and thank Mark for working with us through a challenging time.

I was trying to do the refinance for last three months but couldn t. My car loan interest was around 11 percent and now it is only 4 percent with Patelco. *All in One -All your financial needs* I received an auto refinance approved letter from Patelco with a Credit card flyer. I taken appointment and went local Fremont branch and I met Mr.Muhammad Taufiq Ul Arafin. He took care of my credit card application and he told me that after one business he will get back to me and also he explained about auto loan refinance and also worked out for current loan APR and Pateco new offer APR. I am simply replied to him, First I will get my credit card then I will think about refinancing and after few days back I didnt get call from him so I checked my credit card online status and found my application approved and asking for my ids and other docs then I taken new appointment again and went to met again Mr.Muhammad, First he submitted my docs and got approved from backend under reviver for credit card then he asked me that auto refinance so I replied to him please go ahead to do it. So he helped one by one. 1.Credit card got approved 2.Open membership with Patelco CU 3.Checking Account 4.Money Marketing Saving Account 5.Refinance my auto loan 6.Overdraft credit approval for my Checking ac Everything done just one shot, I am so happy to recommend Mr.Muhammad and he have lot of banking experience and how to react about customer needs on time. Also he is really wonderful and knows a good financial background and it will be useful to our Fremont Community. Worst of the worst customer service ever, it had been over a month in a half and still haven t been able to help me. Be careful people if you appreciate the value of money stay away from this place. When looking for refinancing they were me asking for 4K!!! Even tho my car wasn t upside down at all . Then they ask you why you didn t refinance with them again, cause apparently I didn t need to refinance with other credit union cause everything was fine with them so I had to spent 3k to be able to get approved to another credit union. Everyone should be in the same page when it comes to refinancing. That amber lady says she will give you a call the next day and it takes her over 2 weeks to give you an update. Since they don t call you you have to be stopping by on every branch to get a little bit of help, seriously if you don t wanna help don t help but don t make the customers come to the branch in vain, also every time I went there they kept adding more and more to the down payment making excuses like you took too long to go thru the process even tho they are the one taking forever. Mark Davis started my application and that was the only thing they did ok and fast cause even after that he forgot to update my info , and after that no follow ups or nothing. If you don t mind spending all day doing this, go for it, but if you re a busy person like the rest of us this isn t the credit union for you.

I came in today (8/14/20) and after a short wait Mark Davis greeted me and walked me through the enrollment and application process to get my car refinanced. I was able to open a credit card as well as checking and savings. Mark was very helpful in explaining the process and options I had. He worked quickly and I was able to get my car refinanced at a much lower rate and answered any questions I had. Mark made things easy to understand and broke down different metrics for me. As someone who is new to refinancing and all that it was great to get someone experienced like Mark. I have several family members who were already Patelco members and I see why they joined. If youre looking for a new place to bank or maybe refinance your car like me, please give Patelco a look. And if you do, see if you cant get Mark to help you out. tldr: First experience with Patelco, enjoyed it. Great service, would recommend, and will go back. 10/10.

The conversation over the phone before I arrived to my appointment was unfriendly. But his tone changed & I felt welcomed in the branch after talking more about my financials. Muhammad is Knowledgeable. Detailed Oriented. Pleasant. Very Professional and Helpful. The atmosphere in the bank is so unfriendly & dreary. Maybe because of the time & situation we are all facing. I chose to come to a credit union over the commercial banks because of the competitive rates. It would have been a bonus if the experience was extraordinary.

My recent experience at Patelco was great! I came in to get a car loan and was helped by Mark Davis. He was professional, funny and taught me about banking. Not only was I able to get help with my loan, I also gained some new knowledge.

Muhammad is an experienced banker and he uncovered all my needs. Educated me on credit ratings and how I can be approved. He set up my account with Money Market Savings account and interest is really high compared to big banks. Liked it. I recommend Muhammad for all banking needs.

I arrived at around 11:00 a.m. to deposit a check and I was helped by Mark Davis, financial advisor, since my request was non-cash related. I asked him for assistance replacing my lost cards thinking it might be quick. Turned out I took up a lot of his time, but he was very patient and nice while he canceled my old cards and made my new ones. He had to call support so I could get my cards done while I was there rather than waiting for them in the mail. He had a great attitude and a sense of humor while dealing with unforeseen setbacks. I got his business card and definitely plan on making an appointment to see how he can help me financially. Thanks Mark! I will be more careful and try not to lose my cards again but I m glad it led me to this connection.

My experience in December was my first time at Patelco, and I requested a personal loan. I was treated really well by everyone, especially by the representative, Jazmin. She treated me well with the VIP treatment, and in less than 24 hrs my loan was funded into my account. I will definitely recommend my family and friends to patelco.

UPDATE- Patelco contacted me and made it right. Thank you! This bank stole almost $100 from me, inactivity fees because my account wasnt being used enough for their taste, I guess. Would have been nice to let me know. However, I didnt find out until I tried to access my account and when I called to ask if the charges could be reversed, they refused, even though they had an incorrect address on the statements (didnt match my address on file). Awful service, dont bank with them.

This location used to be excellent but now its just extra long unnecessary wait times, rude &really incompetent tellers &absolutely horrible costumer service. These people really dont care about their job or their customers.

No concept of what real customer service is. The ATM on their wall took the card and never proceeded with the transaction nor returned it. Inside folks response? Go talk to your CU. Machine is serviced by someone else. No offer to assist with contacting the someone else. Again the Go talk to your CU without asking where that CU is (Oregon) as if THAT CU can magically resolve an ATM issue mounted on some other CUs wall. Really, really pathetic customer service. No wonder they dont post their phone number.

I can honestly say that after 20+ years with PATELCO we have had NO issues with them ever! I will never in my life go back to a big bank again. We all are aware of Bank of America and Wells Fargo and their outrageous fees. Patelco has better rates on Savings accounts too! Thank you PATELCO!!!

My debit card, while always having the means to back transactions, has been frequently declined for security concerns. When it happens during normal business hours, its a commitment of about 20 minutes on the phone. But, when it happens after 5 on a weekday, or a weekend, I have NO ACCESS TO MY MONEY! That means, I can be at a restaurant and not be able to settle the bill. I can be on an empty tank and not be able to fuel. Not because Im a deadbeat. BECAUSE PATELCO IS CONSTANTLY MESSING WITH MY DEBIT CARD ACCESS! I dont do transactions out of the ordinary. Deal with the same vendors. I only buy from reputable online vendors. Vendors Patelco should see in my transaction history. I have invested hours on the phone with the customer service people at Patelco. Theyre all apologetic... but it always happens again. I would not recommend Patelco to anyone! I honestly dont know how anyone with a debit card from them remains there. I am actually looking forward to a day off when I can close my account there and get a reliable banking institution. What good is a Bank/credit union that spontaneously stops the patrons access to settle their debts/accounts. Honestly, if I had more time, Id be talking with an attorney about what Patelco has done to complicate my life. Its not a matter of small inconvenience. Its incompetent to a level that I cant believe regulators would find acceptable. IF they did, Patelco must hover around the lowest acceptable standard of banking performance. Likely at a level that might have predated the advent of computerized transactions!

horrible service. i had lost my card and was from out of state. they wanted some kind of magnetic card or id. how the hell if i told them i had no card and my state ID doesnt have a magnetic stip. Never coming or recomending this place

I need a auto loan recently, and walk in three times. Every time, the banker there told me she will call me in 20 minutes. But they never called, never! And that waist my time. But, eventually, they offer me a good apr. One word for sum up, fair apr, poor service.

2 time visited, still they were not able to get me a person to talk about Home Loan. Third time i visited is today, a lady representative offered me a business card that i should contact to some person wjo is not in bank. They took 2 time my personal details.. Good business patelco.
