The other young lady Courtney just walks around holding keys or seems to be sneaking off to a side office to either talk with another co-worker or hiding from helping. I would rate it better but because of the non-workers and wait time when it really doesn’t have to be I have to rate it lower. The only reason I rated a 3 is because of good tellers that keep this place moving and are really polite and helpful.

Great Sevice! Great customer service. I have worked with Ben and Zoe multiple times from getting app support to setting up major accounts. They were always very professional, and yet so friendly and knowledgeable. On an occasion to stop in, I mentioned in conversation about mortgage increases. And to my surprise the worker expressed how heartfelt they were about how changes could impact their customers. Some businesses still cares about the customers. Alexia Parker, the Branch Manager at the AFCU West location on Shackleford Road was the consummate professional when she and I spoke on Monday, July 8!
She understood the nature of my call, assured me she could take care of it and did while we were on the phone. She followed up as she assured with an e-mail and within minutes she indeed had fully addressed my concerns and eased my anxiety.
There has been nothing AFCU hasn’t been able to do that I’ve needed and for that it’s always with unabashed honesty I share with anyone who asks with whom I bank.

I LOVE AFCU. In 2004 (while on AD) I applied for a CC with them, interest has been 0-4% for 20+ years now. My spouse has a CC with them too. Screw the competition and their CC offerings of 14-32% interests!!! AFCU Rocks!!!! Thank you AFCU.

Moving from this bank after using them for years. They have become fee hungry and making excuses to hold your money after deposits, then doling it out in small amounts so they can continue to make interest on it. Ive never seen such in my life. If negative stars were a thing....

I called and applied for a personal loan. I was denied then got a letter in the mail and an email stating I was pre approved because of my credit score. My dad has been a member of AFCU for many years. He has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers and I cannot tell you how helpful every one has been especially Alexia Parker. She has been so helpful in navigating and teaching us how best to make my fathers money last. She is extremely educated and explains everything in a way all of my family members understand. Every time my father enters the bank everyone greets him by name. Recently my father came in with a caregiver that Alexia didnt recognize. Since she knows how vulnerable he is she led them in her office just to see how he was, but more importantly she was wanting to meet this new person and to make sure he wasnt being taken advantage of. How many people would do this? This institution gets above and beyond to serve their customers. I live in another state and I dont worry about my dads finances because I know he is being taken care of !!

Pretty disappointed since I spoke to Matt about trying to cancel a transfer. Its been about a month since the funds left my account and no resolution. The issue I have is that no one seems to know what is going on and everyone is new and training. I spoke with a second line worker and the first line receptionist must not have included necessary information because he asked if the transfer I was following up on was to another financial institution... that was asked and answered earlier in the process but no one communicated that to Matt except me. To top that off, when the second line worker (Matt) asked I was a little shocked at the basic question and felt like he nor anyone actually listened or passed on info. He took my shock as me not knowing the destination of the transfer. In the end I just felt interrogated for trying to get my own funds returned to my account. Absolutely infuriating. Of course, this is after waiting for 30 minutes for the privilege to talk to them.

I am so disappointed! I am new to Arkansas, and I desperately want to support local organizations; but this was a repeat poor experience that tips me to moving my money to a different credit union or bank. Granted I arrived at 4:51PM, but the bank is open until 6. All I wanted to do is deposit two checks. The atrium was filled with employees that easily outnumbered customers. I was greeted with Well be right with you. I was first in line. Then started the wait as the line grew. And every employee is looking at their screens or walking to an office. There is joking and joviality amongst them. And then they leave - one by one, I watch three employees pack up and leave with the line of customers growing. The lady that greeted me also left. There are still three employees left, but they are engrossed in their screens. One employee returns from a break and starts staring at her screen. I finally get called on by the only person calling on incoming customers. She, also, has to get approval to deposit my checks and walks off to another part of the bank for that. She then returns. I have an option for an upgrade to my account which offers me more interest, and she offers me this with now three people in line behind me; but I do not have it in me to make these people wait for the only available teller. Regrettably, this was a repeat; and I was willing to believe that my prior experience which was a couple of months ago was an aberration... AFCU, you need to focus on the customer! Its not about you, especially when it comes to wanting people to trust you with their money; and hopefully with my money out, others will follow suit; because this credit union is not there for its members.

Please don t get an account here unless you want to pay a ton of fees! They will charge you overdraft fees the day of and even when you have overdraft protection and have money in the other account! Then make you beg to get the fee back and act like they re doing you a favor when they don t even give you back the full fee. Customers Beware.

I went to the branch off Shackleford and Kayla helped me set up a new checking account. She was seriously so amazing and so helpful. At this particular establishment, there was an individual by the name of Ben who was incredibly helpful through the whole process of opening checking and savings accounts. He helped me navigate the complications of moving from one bank to another, and helped me refinance my vehicle. I told Ben I was also seeking to look into investments and mortgage loans through AFCU, which he actively provided his support and went out of his way to ensure the right people contacted me. I also want to point out the people he worked with were incredibly friendly. I have been to several banks to see what they offered, and AFCU was by far the best with their rates, services, and transparency. I appreciate Ben, and I hope he is commended properly for the hard work he does.

There should never be a time that one sits in drive thru for over 30 minutes to deposit a check. Both this location and North Hills are painfully slow. I have lost my lunch break today. The mobile deposit is not a good, safe option because it holds the check for 5-9 days. Do better.

I went into the Shackleford branch today with an issue concerning fees - quite a large amount, but thanks to the help of two amazing staff members we got it all taken care of. I had signed up for no transfer fees quite some time ago and didnt realize I was being charged for them. When I mentioned this to Jarred Turner, and I expressed that I had no idea how it could have happened, he saw how desperate I was and immediately comforted me. I was shown over to another staff member who could help me fix it - Kayla Lester - and I immediately felt like the bank actually cared. The fact that Jarred and Kayla welcomed me and heard me out while I was so stressed meant so much to me. Ive never had a problem with this bank, and I would recommend it to anyone. Especially with the incredible help you get from people that really do care. Thank you both so much.
